Two-Faced Man

What say I to the smiling two-faced man
Who casually approaches and extends his hand?

You say HELLO, and How are you?
And you mean it.
Because we all have been two-faced at some time, and because you know that people often suffer from blindness in one eye -- not even aware of the two-facedness.
If you were more certain in your faith, I would say you respond this way because the Lord tells us to love our enemies and to pray for those who persecute us (or persecute ones we love).
Happy Turkey Day!

I find my response tends to be a bit more like Seinfeld's famous, "Hello... Neewwwwmannn."

But yeah, I agree with you in principle.

How about
Proverbs 10:12 -- Just a few verses up :)
Hatred stirs up strife, but love covers all offenses.

LOL. And the fur starts flyin'.

Seems like it is the little poems from the dark part of my heart that get the most reaction on this here blog.

What would you say to a Two-faced man?

wisdom would offer you two choices here....

Prudence would say... turn your back on Two-faced. Protect your heart and nurse your wound. It HURTS!!

Mercy would say - follow mr b's advice. Say Hello. Turn the other cheek. Take a step towards reconciliation. Your heart needs the healing. NOT HIS.

Prudence would answer "but he has/could/would use my words against me"

mercy would say "that maybe true" so...
I don't know if Two-faced is really a lying hypocrit- double agent or caught in the middle.

I do know that your heart has been broken. I also know one path would allow your wounds to fester. The other would work as a surgeons' knife and hurt like heck. But it would allow the pain to seep our and your heart to heal.

It's your choice.

When you forgive someone you actually begin healing for both.
